eResidency Card opening

A convenient process for you

In the Freedom Banker app, you can activate a card and
obtain eResidency status under the Kazakhstan government
program. Card activation and status issuance are fully online.

How to open or activate your card?

    Download the Freedom Banker app

    tap Become a client and select Apply for eResidency.

  • 2

    Download the eResidency app:

    complete verification and apply for eResidency status, IIN, and eSIM

  • 3

    Complete identity verification

    take a photo of your passport, upload your image. A biometric passport with an embedded NFC chip is required

  • 4

    Pay for participation in the eResidency program

    120 USD for Operator program services

  • 5

    Activate the eSim and wait for the operator to process your application

    you will receive instructions for activating the eSim by email

  • 6

    Open or activate the card in the Freedom Banker app

    after successfully obtaining eResidency status, return to the Freedom Banker app and log in using the eSim number you received, fill out the bank questionnaire, and open a new eResidency card — or activate your existing one. You're all set!

What are the card terms?
  • Payments worldwide and online with no fees
  • Withdrawals, deposits, card top-ups, and currency conversion are free
  • Accounts in tenge and US dollars. You can also open accounts in euros, rubles, yuan, dirhams, and liras
  • Card validity period — indicated on your physical card
  • You can add the card to Apple Pay / Samsung Pay / Google Pay

What do I need to open a card?
  • Passport
  • IIN (Individual Identification Number) of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a mobile phone number
  • An eSIM from a Kazakh mobile operator to receive SMS — you can obtain it through the eResidency program
What are the requirements to obtain eResidency status?
  • Service fee — $120 for the first year, then according to the operator’s tariff
  • You must complete identity and passport verification in the operator’s app
What is the minimum age to open a card?
18 years and older.
