after successfully obtaining eResidency status, return to the Freedom Banker app and log in using the eSim number you received, fill out the bank questionnaire, and open a new eResidency card — or activate your existing one. You're all set!

What do I need to open a card?

Foreign passport with an NFC chip, valid for at least 6 months
IIN (Individual Identification Number) of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a mobile phone number
An eSIM from a Kazakh mobile operator to receive SMS — you can obtain it through the eResidency program

What are the requirements to obtain eResidency status?

Service fee: $120, one-time payment
You must complete identity and passport verification in the operator’s app

What is the minimum age to open a card?

18 years and older.

How to contact customer support?

If you have questions or issues with obtaining an IIN and eSIM in the "eResidency" mobile app, you need to contact "eResidency" support at [email protected]. Also, at each stage in the "eResidency" mobile app, there is a "Help" button to contact support.

Do I need to renew my eResidency participation to keep using the card?

No. The card validity period and service terms are set by the bank, not by the eResidency program operator. The card is valid until the expiry date shown in the app, and the account has no expiry date. Paying for the program operator’s services, such as eSIM or the annual data update, does not affect your card or account.

What do I need to pay after getting eResidency?

There are no mandatory payments after registration. The eSIM is provided by a mobile operator: the first month is included in the eResidency fee, and from the second month the service costs 15 USD per month. You can top up the balance in the eResidency app. The eSIM is optional. Renewing your participant status is a separate paid service called “Annual data update”, and it is not required for your account and card to work.

How long is the eResidency IIN valid?

An IIN issued through eResidency has no expiry date under the law. It is generated based on the foreign citizen’s passport.

Do I need to change my eResidency IIN after arriving in Kazakhstan?

An eResidency IIN is a standalone identification number. It is not linked to a national IIN and cannot be converted, updated or replaced.

Can I order a physical card and where will it be delivered?

Yes. The card is issued free of charge and can be delivered to you. A special delivery offer is currently available for foreign citizens: 10,000 ₸ instead of ~~25,000 ₸~~ within Kazakhstan and 25,000 ₸ instead of ~~50,000 ₸~~ outside Kazakhstan.
